Like many other creators around the world including the notable Khaby Lame, 2020 was a year of maximum Epiphany. Without any doubt, 17year old Samuel Oruh wasn't left out.

Name: Oruh Samuel Chinaemezu,

Nationality: Nigeria 🇳🇬

Occupation: Self-taught Bic Pen Artist

Started Drawing: 2020 (Officially)

About:

Born Oruh Samuel Chinaemezu in 2005 to his family in Nigeria, Samuel cultivated the habit of drawing from a little age. Stating in a recently held interview that he had been actively involved in drawing but took it to the next level in 2020 during the lockdown pandemic.

Over the years, Samuel has forged himself by practice and perseverance to become a self taught professional ball pen artist.

"I got inspired by many artists who are bigger and better than me to get to this level and still growing.

No one mentors me, I do researches to learn more but the researches are not well educative.

I practice my drawing skill both at midnight 🕛 using a torchlight."

There's absolutely no doubt to the above statement considering the fact that I have seen his works, they are prolific and have a meticulous level of precision. Such Genius.

What Challenges Have You Faced So Far As A Ball Pen Artist?

When asked about the challenges he's faced, Samuel highlighted a few challenges including low engagements in social media.

"At times I feel like quitting due to lack of support and low engagements on social media but I say to myself , quitting is never an option.

So believing in myself has been of. Help so much."

If I'm to be asked, it goes beyond that. There's actually a new wave of public enlightenment going on in Africa as a whole. Prior to this era, parents and the masses refused to believe anyone could make a career out of doing what they actually love e.g Photography, Acting, Football etc. But watching individuals do it over and again have made many accept the new fact.

Now Samuel and a few others have decided to pave way for future Ball pen artists, proving that ones talent no matter how minute it might look in the minds of others,  can get the Individual to places.

When asked what he intends achieving with his Art,  Samuel replied

"There's this sound on tiktok of Someone saying God I don't wanna be a mechanic, I want to be a baller 😂lol

I want my talent to take me to a higher level , like Wizkid became what he is today because of his talent and connection.

It means I already have the talent and it now remains the connection 🥺

I want to take Nigeria 🇳🇬 to the next level when it comes to art 🎨,,,

I want to rep Nigeria 🇳🇬

I don't want to be underrated as an ordinary artist , I want to be people's role model 👐"

Who Inspires You To Draw More And Do Better Art?

Chigbu joshua, enil art 🎨, mayor arts, etc

And without any hesitation, Samuel added that of the three listed artists above, he is more inspired by Chigbu Joshua.

What Advice Do You Have For Other Ball Pen Artists And Creators?

While Emphasizing on the need for a high level of belief in one's self, Samuel also mentioned consistency as a key ingredient.

"My advice  is to believe in yourselves and believe in what you can do, never let anyone discourage you from whatchu doing, and also be consistent."

And of course not leaving his fans out of the discussion, (I'm part of them) If you're part of Samuels Fans, here's what Samuel had to say..🤭🤭

"And to all my fans 😍🥰🥰
