The CEO of Empire Records Ghazi Shami enumerated a couple of reasons why many artists want to sign under his label.

The Name Empire Records is not new to any music lover as the American Distribution, Records and Publishing Company has been around since 2010 when it was founded by Ghazi Shami.

With offices in New York, Atlanta, Nashville and London, Empire has built a musical Empire for itself and a name that will definitely outlive its founders.

Every now and then, we see new young and promising artists signing to this record label despite the ongoing allegations surrounding the death of artists in the label.

Why does this happen? Of course there's the obvious reason which stares us in the face.. The amount of success Empire records have made over the years, releasing debut singles and albums for ground breaking artists which top charts and set records.

Asides this, the Empire records CEO while on a live stream gave detailed explanation on why artists keep doing what ever it takes to sign those papers.

According to his words, Empire records is all about supporting the artists. "You can call me on a Sunday morning as CEO of the company and say I wanna drop in 3 hours and I will make sure to facilitate that it's out on Apple music in 3 hours"

If you know a thing or two about distribution, you'll understand what he stated there. That's the first reason Ghazi Shami mentioned.

Another notable point is this "Ghazi Shami treats his artists as his business partners" not just as artists..in his own words, He's like the GPS of the car, the artist calls on him when they need directions.

Considering the years of work and how Empire records have been able to build a supply chain since 2010/2011 for themselves, requiring no middle men in distribution gives them an edge over the others. Empire has one of the best rates no doubt.. Might not be ranking by volume of music put out, but the quality is unquestionable.

Virtually every fast rising artist wants his music distributed across platforms such as iTunes, Google Play, Amazon, Deezer, Spotify, SoundCloud, and Radio, along with physical CDs and vinyl being distributed to traditional record stores and this is exactly what Empire Record does.
