Machine Gun Kelly is an American rapper, who also performs as a singer, songwriter, musician, and actor. The enthusiastic performer made history by becoming the first rapper to win the Apollo talent competition.

Machine Gun Kelly is more than just a rapper; He has done everything from walked in fashion shows as a model, to acting in Cameron Crowe-directed television roles. He even frequently performs while rocking a guitar and refers to himself as a musician rather than just another rapper. He does, after all, have a rockstar appeal.

He is known for his eccentric sense of style, vibrant tattoo collection, and diet of alcohol, drugs, and, of course, a few Hollywood babes. Yes, he is taking advantage of the benefits of success, but getting there took a really long time.

But before all of these, before he worked with Camila Cabello, BB Rexa, Walka flocka flame, Whiz Khalifa, and even dissed his idol Eminem in the song 'Rap Devil'. Before Machine Gun Kelly, had over 9.6 million Instagram followers, 8 million YouTube subscribers, and more than 4 million Twitter followers.

Before switching to acting in television and movies, including a position in the Motley crew movie, 'The dirt', where he plays the character of Tommy Lee, Mgk was only a little boy growing up with his father. He viewed his father as a loser who was not motivating and instead was very critical.

When MGK was 20 years old, he was homeless and struggling with a heroin addiction. He discovered he was going to become a father while working at Chipotle. Someone might have thought about placing a machine gun in their mouth in this circumstance, but he actually turned into one.

I'll be documenting this man's life and profession prior to celebrity because it has been a long, arduous road for him to get here.

Machine Gun Kelly was born Richard Coulson Baker on April 22nd, 1990 in good old Houston, Texas. His parents were missionaries who traveled extensively. Before his mother and father made Denver, Colorado, their permanent home, he spent his early years in places like Egypt, Germany, and Chicago.

Things fell apart quickly after his mother left his father for another man when he was only nine years old. He continued to see his mother occasionally, but because he wasn't particularly her fan, he blocked these memories from his mind.

His father struggled to cope with the loss and fell into depression. As a result of his unemployment, the family moved into an aunt's basement. Young Coulson experienced bullying while attending Hamilton Middle School. His father wasn't much help, so he ended up listening to some rap music for comfort. His early favorites included DMX, Eminem, and Ludicrous.

The influence of Eminem on his life and career was significant. He also enjoyed Blink-182 and Guns N' Roses. The bullying continued into Thomas Jefferson High School and persisted throughout the high school years.

Coulson began having numerous legal run-ins, it progressed from simple theft to the theft of CD players and at the age of 14, he was charged with a felony. Although he declined to elaborate, many who carefully analyzed his lyrics assumed that he had shot up someone's a car in a jealous rage.

He was practically left to fend for himself when his father departed for a job in Kuwait, and that is when he started to experiment with drugs while also becoming creative by writing some songs. In his aunt's basement in 2006, he successfully recorded his first amateur demo tape.

Standing six feet four inches tall and developing into the tall glass of water he is now, he played the tight end on the football team and also mustered the guts to start calling out his elder classmates.

When his father came home, the two of them relocated once more, this time to beloved Cleveland, Ohio, where Coulson enrolled in Shaker Heights High.

Young Coulson began to take his music career seriously; he asked the owner of the neighborhood t-shirt shop to serve as both his manager and MC, and he acquired the stage name Machine Gun Kelly from his fans because of his lightning-fast delivery.

In Ohio hip-hop circles, MGK made a name for himself very quickly. From 2009 to 2014, he dominated the state's hip-hop awards. He took home awards for best live performer, best national artist, and video of the year. He was essentially the musical equivalent of Lebron James in Ohio.

He went to Harlem's Apollo theater in 2009, and there, he won the Apollo Amateur Night Competition round after round, becoming the first white rapper to ever do so.

After MGK completed high school, his punishment for all of this was to be evicted from his father's home. It was now a double whammy situation because he later learned that he would soon become a father. He was then working on music and releasing a second mixtape called "100 words and running," but in order to sustain himself, he had to work at Chipotle, where he received a free dinner every day.

He was known as the chicken devil back then for always giving customers additional chicken when they asked for it. He was once homeless and dependent on heroin for almost two years before being helped by treatment centers and counseling to kick the habit.

According to this Instagram post from September 2013, MGK had a female buddy named Ashley, who prevented him from sleeping on the streets. He was fortunate to have a friend like her because not everyone has; she allowed him to stay on her mother's couch.

Things started to fall into place gradually, and he achieved another major milestone when he was featured on MTV2's Sucker-free freestyle.

He made his national debut in May 2010 with the Alice in Wonderland track, which was made available on iTunes. The hometown anthem of Cleveland was included on his second mixtape, Lace Up, which was published in November 2010 and was played throughout Cleveland home games.

He would find himself on the 2012 double XL freshman list alongside French Montana, Mclemore, Iggy Azalea, and Future thanks to some good fortune. He also won the MTV Europe Music Award for Up and Coming Artist.

He also got himself in the news after tweeting about images of Eminem's daughter Hailie in May 2012. When she was 16 years old, he described her as being "very hot," but he said so in the most respectful way possible since Eminem is a king.

Now, MGK feels as though his invitation has been denied, he further claimed that a member of the Fader's staff informed his group via email that MGK will never be included in their magazine. Additionally, he stated that Coachella declined to let him play and that Rolling Stone refused to review his general admission.

This would imply that he has severed ties with individuals in the higher ups. Sean Combs met him in 2011 and persuaded him to sign a recording deal with Bad Boy Records, a label affiliated with Interscope.

His debut EP, which was 'Half-naked & famous', arrived on the Billboard 200 at position 46. Not very excellent, but Lace Up, his debut album, which was released in October 2012, brought him greater success. Lace up arrived at number four on the US Billboard 200, and the lead song, Wild Boy, reached its highest position of number 98 on the US Billboard Hot 100. The RIAA quickly granted the album gold certification.

MGK began putting a lot of effort into acting in addition to his continued focus on music. In 2014, he landed his first job, a ten-episode stint on the Cameron Crowe-produced series Roadies. He has played the protagonist in the films Nerve, Viral, Punk's dead.

He also performed as Tommy Lee in the movie The Dirt, which tells the tale of how the Motley Crew became one of the most infamous rock and roll bands ever.

Though I couldn't get information on his baby mama, it's obvious that MGK has a tight relationship with his daughter. He has also had a few girlfriends, including Halsey and Amber Rose.

General admission, his second studio album, debuted at number one on the Billboard Top R&B Hip-Hop Albums chart and number four on the Billboard 200 in 2015. Then there was Camila Cabello's song "Bad things," which he featured in, peaking at number nine on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.

Even while there have been many successes, there have also been some setbacks. Now, MGK feels he hasn't received enough love from above and it makes sense why he would blame Eminem. Because after that tweet MGK made about Hailie, Eminem's daughter, the both have been at logger-heads.
