Prior to landing a significant role in the 2017 Spider-Man film 'Spider-man Homecoming', Zendaya was a Disney star who later became a fashionista, winning the teen choice award for style icon and even prompting Barbie to create a doll in her likeness.

She also joined Taylor Swift's girl squad as the knife-wielding cutthroat in the music video 'Bad Blood', and had at a time, called out a reporter at the Oscars for making racist remarks about her hair.

The multi-talented beauty's charity work book and clothing line would make her one of the most admired role models today with 49 million followers on her social media and an estimated net worth of 1.5 million dollars.

But before all these,  Zendaya grew up as a gifted young girl who stood out among her peers, literally standing at 5'10 in her early teens.

She had initially considered a future as a basketball player but after she got a chance to sing on a Disney show in her late teens, she had a change of heart. Then she split off to work on her own projects.

Without further ado, let's look into   Zendaya's early life and profession before she became well-known.

Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman was born on September 1st, 1996, in Oakland, California. The name Zendaya means "to give" in the bantu dialect of Zimbabwe.

Black, and originally from Arkansas, her father Samuel Coleman later changed his name to Kazembe Ajamu after learning more about his ancestry. White, of Scottish and German descent, Claire Stormer is the mother of the girl. Zendaya has five older siblings on her father's side, despite the fact that she is their only child together.

It appears that Zendaya inherited her mother's height. I'm talking about 6'4" tall, and her mother did play basketball for a while.

Zendaya was confident she would become a basketball player because her parents had placed her on competitive teams when she was in kindergarten, but that was before she sat down and turned on the Disney Channel.

She understood right away that she wanted to work in the entertainment industry, and it just so happened that her mother ran the California Shakespeare Theater, so it worked out well.

After enrolling in their conservatory program, Zendaya became seriously bitten by the acting bug. She quickly became distinctive due to her long legs, and started appearing in advertisements for Macy's and Old Navy. She expanded her dance repertoire as well, learning everything from hula to hip-hop.

She joined the group "Future shock Oakland" and performed with them for three years. Her slick moves even got her a spot back up dancing in a Sears commercial for the beloved Selena Gomez.

When her career as a performer was just getting started, she started going to the Oakland School for the Arts, where her father was a teacher. She kept practicing acting at local conservatories and started getting tiny parts in plays here and there.

She appeared in an audition for the Disney program Dance Dance Chicago, later renamed "Shake It Up," in November 2009. The triple threat, who was just 13 years old and stood 5'10, astonished the producers. She gave a rendition of Michael Jackson's "Leave me alone."

When she was offered the part, her family relocated to Los Angeles. The next year, when the show debuted, it broke the record for Disney Channel's most watched series debut. After the show was renewed for three more seasons, Zendaya began putting out her own singles. She produced her first Disney movie in 2012.

She then had a chance that she couldn't miss; In the 16th season of  Dancing with the stars, in 2013, she debuted and quickly rose to the position of youngest contestant. All ages of fans turned in to watch the beauty perform week after week, and she eventually advanced to the finals.

The young artist's sef-titled debut album was about to be released, so the attention couldn't have come at a better moment. This young girl did put forth a lot of effort.

She demonstrated in her first single replay that she was more than simply a sex symbol and could serve as an adult role model. She enjoys creating educational material for kids, as demonstrated by her new Disney program, Casey Undercover.

She immediately became a style icon with the aid of stylist Laroche, designing her own clothes line, shoes, and killing it on red carpets. She revealed in 2016 that she would play Michelle in the upcoming Spider-Man movie.

Since then, she has also appeared in the television series 'Euphoria'. She also starred in 'Spider-Man: No Way Home', 'Spider-Man: Far from Home', 'Dune', and many others. The girl is really skilled in what she does.
