If you are not aware, Record labels have the right to claim the life insurance money when artists under them die. This is usually part of the paper work.

Speaking in terms of Insurance, the need for life insurance which many artists sign in the paper work is simple. These Records are doing business with artists and have risk of loosing their investments. They need some form of insurance on the life of the person they doing business with.

Sometimes millions are spent on an artist and due to some situation based on the past or street life of that artist, some unfortunate events might come up and such artists ends up loosing his or her life, so these records found a way to reduce their risk by ensuring the life insurance is being signed by the artists.

Some artists do no even recognize the fact that they are giving their life insurance claim to the records.

One might also think that assassinating an artist for insurance benefit makes no sense, considering that the insurance money should just be more like a back up plan to the real deal where money can be made from the artists whose career benefits the Records. And that will be more like killing the hen that lays the golden egg just to eat of it's meat which makes no sense.

But it might make more sense when one understands how these life insurance policies work.
**************************

**************************
It's indeed possible for the life insurance of an artist to get up to 100 million dollars. It's literally possible for the life insurance of an artists to exceed the money retrieved from record sales.

Considering that these artists love their families and because of how they live their life, they might have some gang related situation and gun violence which could end their life, they are therefore involved in these policies, leaving them vulnerable to record labels.

Back to the allegations made about Empire in the death of artists, One cannot clearly state that the unfortunate passing of young artists is the doing of the Empire records because no sufficient proof to back thàt up.

Some individuals have the opinion that the Empire Records might be involved in the death of their artists to claim the life insurance benefits of their artists.

**************************

This Insurance issue has been on for some time as most individuals claim that Ghazi Shami, the founder of Empire records tends to terminate the life of artists early to benefit from their life insurance as artists like King Von, MO3, Young Dolph, and even XXX Tentacion faced premature death and they all did business with Empire.

For those who don't know about Empire, EMPIRE Distribution, Records and Publishing Inc. (marketed as EMPIRE) is an American distribution company and record label founded in 2010 by Ghazi Shami and headquartered in San Francisco, California with offices in New York City, London, Nashville, and Atlanta. It has received several awards and has some top influential artists doing business with it.

These Allegations might be true and at the same time they can be false also, but many people especially those from the African-American communities have had this in view.

And the insurance issue does not end only with Empire records as other artists like Malcolm James McCormick and Airmiess Joseph Asghedom Aka Nipsey Hussle also faced premature death leaving questions.

Some times artists are even killed a day to the expiration of their life insurance deal, or when they are about to leave the label with or  without proper agreement. Some times the reason of their death are also framed and tagged with gun violence. There is more to the music industry than is outwardly visible.
