Just after the Astroworld tragedy that occured recently claiming some lives and leaving others in injury and severe conditions, another trajic event just hit the music industry world wide.

The city of Tennessee and it's locals recently witnessed the assassination of the popular musician Young Dolph. 


Who was Young Dolph?

Adolph Thornton Jr was born in Chicago on july 27 1985, he moved to Memphis with his family at a very young age of 2.

Back then, he had two sisters and two brothers. It's also noteworthy that was a second cousins with rapper Juice Wrld.



 He was so good at his music that he was steadily making his way up the Billboard charts. 

In 2016, Dolph released an album tittled King of Memphis which was absolutely phenomenal.

   Most of his life was spent with his grandmother. His parents were crack cocaine addicts and he only had the opportunity to see them every few weeks as a child.

It is noteworthy that Thornton Jr. was shot twice in the past. He was shot outside of a retail store in Hollywood, Los Angeles, on September 26, 2017.

The gunshot wound was so severe that he had to be listed in critical condition at the hospital, but within a few hours doctors said that he was expected to survive.

 According to Fox13, he was killed around 1pm local time on Wednesday 17th November 2021 at a cookie store named "Makeda’s Butter Cookies".


Lots of locals were seen gathering at the scene, spreading the news of his departure. The police were present to control the crowd and secure the perimeter for investigation purposes.

His passing was very tragic as this is not the first time such incidence has taken place. Tupac Shakur and Xxx tentacion had similar experiences where some unknown gun men led them to an early grave.

   Some hours later, camera coverage of the suspects caught shooting at the scene of the incident were seen all over the internet and social media.

After this shocking event, many celebrities have taken sometime to express their grief via social media. Other fans and lovers of Young Dolph and good music also expressed their feelings causing a massive trend on various social media platforms.

   Some Celebrities who showed great concern include Bankroll Freddie, Quavo, Gucci Mane, Rick Ross and Megan Thee stallion amongst others. 

More prayers keep pouring in from different concerned individuals to his family and loved ones. 


Young Dolph survived by his family and also has a cousin brother, who is a Memphis rapper names Key Glock.

FOX13 stated that the police and other law enforcement agents, including gang units, are actively involved in the preparation of any retaliation activities such as drive-by shootings, and other activities of such nature.
